Hello! Welcome to Handmade3D!

Here is the stitching, doodling, sewing, animating, plush world created by myself, Ellen Ault. I am a mom, a wife, a daugther, a grand daughter, a computer animation instructor, and the creator of Handmade3D.

Handmade3D was started back in 1982 when I was born. I have been creating as long as I can remember. When I was very little I created paper collages that my parents said looked like the work of Picasso. When I was around six I spent some summers with my grandmother painting, decoupaging, drawing, etc. Growing up in Girl Scouts I learned to sew, stitch, and embroider. Here came my love for fabric! When I decided to go to college I knew it had to art related. My love of animation took me to The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Fast forward ten years and I now pass on the love of animation to eager students. And in my spare time I step back from the computer and create for Handmade3D.

After many years I feel it is the time to push Handmade3D to what it is capable of. Spreading the love of little monsters! I love the work of Dr. Seuss, Walt Disney, Mary Blair, Melly & Me, Fred Moore, Chuck Jones. I love nursery rhymes and fairy tales. My daughter is a big inspiration for my work. I make clothes, monsters, and quilts for her. I see her gorgeous smile and hear a wonderful giggle. I want that laughter and love to spread to others.

On my blog you will see what I am currently working on. This can range from doodles of monsters, breakdowns for animations, designs for my daughter, or even my creative space.

The gallery will show you the finished pieces from the designs and doodles. Some of these items are sold from being in different shows but most are available. Contact me if you are interested in any of them!

On a hidden secret page is the Plushtimizer. This is currently in beta mode and will eventually be part of my shop where you can design your own plush monster. Take a look!
